Staff Engineer II (Senior), Advanced Process Technology

Summary of Position with General Responsibilities Plan, design and coordinate the implementation of manufacturing systems and related quality activities in any of the plants to support the ultimate objective of 100% equipment up-time and zero product defects. Lead projects and initiate cost savings opportunities.  The Staff Engineer is responsible for the automation portion of the introduction of new products into production, the scale-up and improvements of existing products and the equipment technology transfer to offshore plants.   Advanced Process Technology team will specify designs, builds and/or acquires assembly and packaging systems for Medical/Surgical Systems and is an arm of the BDI-OPS Engineering organization. Essential Job Functions Accountable for assembly equipment development from concept through market launch to meet worldwide Medical Surgical Systems business objectives. Work closely with Design, R&D, Quality, Marketing and manufacturing plants to implement manufacturing technology. Develops capital and product cost analysis; writes and submits capital appropriations; author's machine specifications and acceptance protocols to purchase high-speed automation equipment; manages vendors in the design, development and implementation of automation equipment. Works with product design and development teams to ensure robust manufacturability of new products. Applies six-sigma and lean manufacturing methodologies to ensure optimization of new product lines. Supports manufacturing plants in cost reduction, standardization and equipment upgrade projects. Participate in the evaluation and assessment of new technologies, intellectual property, products, processes and industry trends that can or have the potential to impact our global business Identify best-in-class industry equipment/automation assembly development partners and establish relationships Ensure efficient and effective transition from tech dev to product development to high volume manufacturing in locations throughout the world Initiate cost savings opportunities. Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
