Associate Director, Molding

With limited direction from the Director of Engineering - Global Operations, the incumbent is responsible for leading, developing and managing the molding technology team to establish the direction and development for the BD Interventional (BDI) BU. This includes interfacing with product development, design, marketing, finance, etc. functions to develop molding technologies related to new products within the BU.  The incumbent should also develop and drive the molding technology road map for the BDI business unit.  This shall include efforts to coordinate cross plant technology activities, standardizations and communications relative to the molding operations. This person shall also manage, coach, mentor and develop engineering associates. The incumbent is also accountable for the execution of the molding technology team resulting from appropriate actions / inactions.  Manage molding technology team to develop associated out-sourced molding vendors to improve cost of goods, delivery and ensure supply chain continuity. Essential job Functions: The Associate Director of Molding has an overall technical, strategic and administrative responsibility for the molding technology team within the BDI. The incumbent is responsible for injection molding related process development; molding related product development initiatives and current molded product line (existing products) within the division. This person shall have significant input to the development of the manufacturing technology strategy and planning for new products with focus of manufacturability. Acting as a liaison to the plants, this person shall promote BDX best practices within the division and within the corporation. Responsible for the successful planning and execution of molding projects and providing communication to management. Promote and evaluate new molding technologies with focus of financial benefits to the BU or Corporation. Manages, coaches, mentors and develops the molding technology engineering team, including training, development planning with focus of management of assignments and performance reviews. Accountable for the molding technology team and it's actions / in actions. Completes molding related projects with established lead times and financial expenditures by managing departmental labor and budgeted resources.  Perform other duties as assigned. Supervision of multiple direct reports (team members) are required within this role.  Collaborative and interaction with professionals from other departments, business and suppliers through leading and participating on project teams. Receives limited direct supervision from Director of Engineering, Global Operations to achieve annual goals. Basic Qualifications: - B.S. in Plastics Engineering or equivalent - M.S. in Plastic Engineering is preferred - M.B.A is desirable     - Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing injection molding related projects and programs, ideally in the Medical Device / Pharma market. Strong background in plastics processing, tool and die, process automation, CAD and project management.   Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge: - Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Engineering or equivalent. - Heavily experienced New Product Development (NPD) from concept through commercial realization with focus on working with cross functional teams in a regulated, high and low volume production environment. - Strong understanding of project management and budgeting - Ability to execute scientific molding principles with a full understanding of DOE processes leveraging statistical software, I.e. Minitab - Strong communications skills - Experience with leveraging out-sourced molding vendors and various levels of plant personnel - Knowledge and understanding of interrelationships within the manufacturing operations, finance, quality, etc. in an FDA/ISO regulated environment. Interfacing with the various functions to achieve BU objectives - Experience in equipment specifications, capital expenditure appropriations and validation documentation  - Firm understanding of GD&T - Six Sigma certification desirable. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
