Desktop Support Analyst

The Desktop Technician is responsible for coordinating his or her own daily work flow assisting with implementations/upgrades of all PC operating systems/applications; building and configuring PCs for SMG Network; and for diagnosing hardware problems, ordering, and installing new parts and components. 1-3 years experience is required, in the healthcare industry a plus. Experience with CA Service Desk also a plus. 1. Compliance with all SMG Policies: For example; exhibits professional and ethical behaviors by adhering to the policies regarding conflicts of interest, confidentiality and corporate compliance. Contributes to smooth workflow and exhibits flexibility by properly observing lunch and break periods. Complies/encourages compliance with SMG policy regarding appropriate use of assigned electronic resources (email, internet, etc). Complies/encourages compliance with SMG policy limiting personal use of cell phone, including text messaging (only at meal times, on breaks and outside of patient areas). Complies/encourages compliance with all other SMG and departmental policies, procedures and standards, for example infection control and no solicitation policies. 4. Strict Compliance with all Regulatory Policies: For example; complies /encourages compliance with all OSHA requirements, including the use of proper body mechanics during all activities and duties. Complies /encourages compliance with all HIPAA policies and procedures including appropriately maintaining confidentiality (including computer screens, public discussions, unattended records, etc.) and releases confidential information only when appropriate. Complies/encourages compliance with all other regulatory policies, procedures and standards. 5. Productivity and Accountability: Demonstrates the ability to set goals, assign priorities, anticipate problems, and achieve results, schedules and uses time efficiently, accepts full responsibility for projects and duties assigned, completes assignments on time. 6. Training and Education: Attends and participates in available educational and training events, departmental meetings, employee forums, committees or meetings, as appropriate. 7. Organizational Growth and Support: Supports & is committed to the goals of the organization, including the delivery high-quality and patient-focused care, and being mindful of efficient operations and expense control. 8. Attendance: Observes scheduled work hours, works assignments and the Attendance and Tardiness Policy.
1. Provides PC hardware and application support to users.2. Replaces and moves PC and/or network equipment.3. Installs application software and hardware as requested.4. Builds and maintains PC images.5. Assist with new application software and network rollouts.6. Maintains PC and printer inventory.7. Coordinates service calls for new or malfunctioning equipment with appropriate vendors.8. Assists with training of end users in newly implemented software.9. Logs all activity on help desk tickets and databases.10. Maintain server backup tapes.11. Troubleshoots user problems including printing, network connectivity, and operating system or application issues.12. Sets end user expectations on service calls.13. Effectively communicates progress and status of work orders to department and end user.14. Provide highest quality of service in order to reduce reworking of work orders.15. Provide support, backup and training to Help Desk when needed.16. Provide Network Administrators with recommendations on PC issues.17. Perform upgrades, installation, documentation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of printers, workstations and workstation operating systems.18. Use CA Service Desk to log all work

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
